Police: Easton Man Threw Coffee Table at Stepfather

Easton police charge West Ward resident Joshua Leighton with assault.

Easton police say a West Ward man attacked his stepfather during an argument Sunday night.

According to police, Joshua Leighton, 30, of 1315 Liberty St., argued with his father, Matthew Joyce, late Sunday night at his home.

Police say the fight turned physical, with Leighton throwing a coffee table at Joyce, punching and choking him, and threatening to cut him with a knife.

Leighton was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault, and harrassment. He was arraigned by in Easton, and was free on bail.
