An Easton man who was evicted from his apartment in 2010 was arrested Friday on an accusation that he stole a stove from his rental and sold it for scrap metal, according to court records.
Frank. L. Williams, 57, of 4 Boileau Ave., Easton, was charged with receiving stolen property in the 2010 theft. He was taken into custody Friday by Easton police.
According to court records, were called to Williams’ former home at 902 Lehigh St. in May 2010 on a complaint from that home’s landlord that a Whirlpool gas stove valued at $500 had been stolen.
Detectives found that around the time of the theft, Williams had sold Easton Iron & Metal light scrap iron "consistent with the weight of a stove," for $7.70.
Williams was arraigned before night duty District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez in Bethlehem and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
