An Easton woman was charged after she left her 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter in her parked car while she shopped for groceries Saturday afternoon, city police said.
Marissa A. Viera of 702 Canal Park, who turned 23 on Friday, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children.
Easton police responded to the C-Town supermarket at 250 Line St. a little after 1:30 p.m. for a report that two children had been left alone in a car in the store’s parking lot.
Police also charged Viera with driving with a suspended license and driving without a current inspection certificate for her car, both summary offenses.
Viera was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Roy Manwaring of Bethlehem and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
Viera’s children were placed in the custody of their maternal grandmother until at least the preliminary hearing, according to court records.
