Men Broke Into Vacant Home, Police Say

Three Easton area men face felony trespass charges after allegedly breaking into Wilson house.

Three Easton area men who allegedly were found inside a vacant Fairview Avenue house without permission Saturday night were arrested by Wilson borough police, according to court papers.

Charged with felony criminal trespass and other counts were Bertrand Rejouis, 21, of 130 S. 10th St., Easton; Damitry Laws, 18, of 1918 Freemansburg Ave., Wilson, and John Henry Bonapart, 18, of 1153 Lehigh St., Easton.

  • Police responded to a report of a possible burglary at the home at 1820 Fairview Ave., which was known to be vacant.
  • When police arrived, they found the rear door open. The house had no furniture inside, but police heard people on the second floor.
  • Police announced themselves as they saw people coming down the stairs from the second floor. The trespassers ran back up the stairs and toward the rear of the house. Police observed them trying to escape through a third-floor window before they were ordered to stop.
  • Police found garbage consisting mostly of pizza boxes and beer containers around the house.

The three men were all charged with felony criminal trespassing, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and summary criminal mischief, plus three counts of criminal conspiracy relating to each of the other alleged crimes.

Each of the men were arraigned before on-duty District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro of Bethlehem. All were committed to Northampton County Prison.

Bail was set at $20,000 for Rejouis, who had celebrated his 21st birthday on Thursday. Laws and Bonapart each had bail set at $15,000.
