A Bethlehem Township man is accused of hitting a man in the head with a hammer at an Easton park.

Court records say Michael Devine, 54, of 4002 Evergreen Drive, hit a man on the head with a hammer around 3:30pm Saturday at Ann Street Park, 250 Ann St. on Easton’s south side.

The victim required medical attention at an unnamed trauma center, according to a criminal complaint filed by city Patrolman Eric Siegfried.

Devine was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned Saturday night by on-duty District Judge Robert Hawke of Lehigh Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
