Man Used Candy to Lure Girl, Police Say
Police in Wilson are seeking a man they say tried to lure a girl away from her friends.
Wilson police are looking for a man who they say tried to lure a seven-year-old girl away from her friends Friday afternoon.
According to police, the girl was with her friends on the 1900 block of Lehigh Street around 2:50 p.m. when the man asked her to "go for a walk" with him. He also offered her candy.
Police say the man was last spotted heading east on Lehigh toward 17th Street. He was white, in his late 30s or mid-40s, with grey or blonde hair. At the time he approached the girl, he was wearing jean shorts and a green shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Marc Crisafulli at 610-258-8542. Police ask residents to call 911 if they see similar incidents.
