Man Shot in Neck, Police Seek Accused Teen Shooter

Easton police say suspected gang member shot another man during robbery Saturday night.

Easton police are looking for an 18-year-old with gang ties who is suspected of shooting another man in the neck Saturday night in the city's West Ward.

Jared Alvin Jr. is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, robbery, recklessly endangering another person and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.  

According to police,  the investigation began when an officer was flagged down Saturday around 11:28 p.m. by a man who told them he'd been shot.

Police say the man was shot near Warren and Elm streets. He was hospitalized, but is expected to survive his injuries.

Police are looking for a second suspect: a black man, age 20-23, with short hair, wearing a dark “puffy” coat, blue jeans and a backward hat.   

Alvin, who police say has gang ties, is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who knows where he is should call 911 immediately.
