Man Robbed Friend With a Knife, Police Say

Raymond Davenport accused of robbery and assault in 2011 Easton case.

Easton police say a Schuylkill County man robbed his friend after threatening him with a steak knife in 2011.

Raymond Davenport, who was living in Easton at the time, was charged Friday with aggravated assault, two counts of robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats, receiving stolen property and theft.

According to police, Davenport, 29, was at the friend's home on North Union Street in July 2011 when he threatened the man with the knife, holding it to his throat and making off with cash and the man's rings.

Police say the man was able to identify Davenport, now living in Pottsville, from a photo line-up.

Davenport was arraigned Friday before Senior District Judge James Stoklas, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
