Man Jailed on Gun Threats, Vandalism

"I have guns in my van " Justin Stiblitz allegedly told man who confronted him.

A homeless man has been charged by  with throwing a rock at a windshield – smashing it and denting the vehicle’s hood and bumper – and telling a man who approached him, “I have guns in my van and I can take care of you right now.”

Court records also say Justin C. Stibitz, 38, was drunk when the incidents occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Church Street.

When police responded, they were met by a man who said a white male in a white T-shirt had just smashed a windshield with a large rock. When the man asked the other man to “quiet down,” the other man talked about the guns in his van.

The man later identified as Stibitz eventually went west on Northampton Street. The man who said he was threatened stood in the middle of the street, pointed at Stibitz and told police, “he is right there,” the records say.

Police eventually went back to the 500 block of Church, saw a large rock in the roadway and noticed the windshield, hood and bumper of a vehicle were damaged.

Stibitz was charged with criminal mischief, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was arraigned early Friday by on-duty District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township and committed to in lieu of $20,000 bail.
