Man Headed to Trial in Easton Rape Case
Easton police say Edgar Sanchez raped a sleeping woman at a party in January.
A Phillipsburg man accused of raping a sleeping woman at a party in Easton is headed to trial.
Edgar Sanchezis charged with rape, aggavated indecent sexual assault and sexual assault stemming from an incident January 8. He waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before , and his case was held over for trial in .
According to , Sanchez, 29, of 38 Fulton St., was at a party that day on the 100 block of Wayne St.

Police say one of the other guests went to sleep in a bedroom at the house after drinking four to five glasses of wine. She woke up to find Sanchez on top of her.
When interviewed by police, Sanchez admitted to the rape, and asked to write a letter asking the woman's forgiveness.
