Man Charged in Drug Raid Headed to Trial

Michael Carthens is part of an alleged ring of crack dealers.

A man who was arrested in a high profile is headed to trial.

The Express Times reports Michael Carthens waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before, which means his case will move to Northampton County Court.

Carthens, 40, of South 5th Street, was arrested August 3 during a drug sweep that pulled in people from the West Ward and Downtown. Armed officers from both he Easton Police and the state police's Special Emergency Response Team.
