Gun Threat Leads to Assault Charges

Police say John Johnson threatened to kill his girlfriend

Easton police say a city man threatened to kill his girlfriend over the weekend.

According to police, John Henry Johnson, 25, of 1100 Washington St., Apt. 2, left a threatening message on his girlfriend's voice mail late Saturday night, telling her he was going to shoot her, and then himself.

Police said Johnson had access to a gun to carry out his threat. He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Gay Elwell in downtown Easton, and charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats, and recklessly endangering another person. He was free on $25,000 bail.
