Get Alerts From Wilson Police on Your Phone

Nixle service lets residents get alerts from police via text or e-mail.

Wilson police have begun using Nixle, a new communication service that will allow the department to send important information to borough residents.

The free service—for both residents and the borough—lets you get alerts from police on your phone or as an e-mail.

"Messages may include the declaration of snow emergencies as well as other relevant safety and community event information," police said in a news release.

If you'd like to sign up, you can register at www.nixle.com or text the zip code (18042) to 888777.
