Easton Raid Finds $45,000 in Heroin

Police find heroin and 'suspected gang material' in raid at West Ward home.

conducted a drug raid in the West Ward Friday morning, part of what they characterized as a "several month long investigation" into a New Jersey-to-Easton heroin pipeline.

Arrested in the raid at 916 Walnut St. was Elton Rudolph, 27, who is charged with manufacturing of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

According to a police news release, the raid happened just after 6 a.m. Friday, with members of the city's vice/narcotics unit and special response team serving warrants on Rudolph.

Police say investigators found $45,000 worth of heroin in the home, as well as manufacturing/packaging materials and "suspected Bloods gang materials." 

According to police, there was a woman and two small children -- ages 2 and 4 -- in the home at the time, but officers were able to get them to safety.

There was also an "aggressive dog" on the scene, but it ultimately was secured by police.
