Robber Flees on Bicycle, Police Say

Police are looking for a man who held up a store on the South Side, then escaped on a bike.

Police in Easton are looking for a man they say held up a South Side convenience store Tuesday night and then got away on a bicycle.

The robbery happened around 9:40, said Inspector Daniel Reagan, with a man walking into the King Mart on W. St. Joseph Street and threatening a worker with a black handgun.

Reagan said the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and some Newport cigarettes, and then drove away from the store on a bike.

According to Reagan, the man was black, with a lighter complexion, short hair and a slight beard. He's thin, between 20 and 25 years old, and was wearing a yellow jacket with a zipper and grey jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Reagan at 610-250-6796.

Bandits on bicycles are not unheard of. The Morning Call reported Wednesday that police in Bethlehem were investigating one in a series of local gas station robberies by men on bicycles.
