Easton Police: Man Assaulted Girlfriend

Robert Peters, 22, charged after incident Thursday in the West Ward.

A man is accused of punching his girlfriend in the face at an Easton residence.

Easton police said Robert Williams Peters, 22, assaulted the woman at about 1 a.m. Thursday at 309 N. 11th St.

Court records list Peters' address as the N. 11th St. residence and 2744 Queen St., Palmer Township.

Police were dispatched for a domestic in progress. The woman said Peters punched her in the face. Patrolman Eric Siegfried, the officer involved, said he observed red marks under her right eye. Elsewhere in the records, Siegfried said the punch caused "obvious physical injury."

Peters was arraigned about two hours later by on-duty District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $5,000 bail.
