Easton Man Had Illegal Guns, Police Say

Ferry Street resident Kan'non Booker accused of having stolen guns, drugs.

An Easton man arrested during a raid in Palmer Township Thursday had two illegal handguns, according to township police.

Kas'son Booker, 22, of the 1400 block of Ferry Street, is charged with possession of a firearm with altered manufacturer's number, receiving stolen property, and numerous drug-related offenses.

Booker had been arrested Thursday morning in a raid on Vermont Street in Palmer Township, where Easton police were searching for two men suspected in a Sunday night robbery.

According to court records, police found Booker in a bedroom over the home's garage. There was a safe inside the bedroom. Inside, police found 100 bags of heroin, eight bags of marijuana, $100 in cash, and two handguns—which police say were likely stolen—with their serial numbers obscured.

Court records say Booker told police he had no idea the guns were in the safe, and that he wasn't the only person who knew the combination.

Also taken into custody during the raid was Jasmine Mingo, 19, of Allentown, who is facing marijuana charges.

Both Mingo and Booker were arraigned before on-duty District Judge Daniel Corpora and sent to Northampton County Prison after failing to post bail -- $75,000 for Booker and $2,000 for Mingo.
