Easton Man Gets Prison for West Ward Stabbing

Fernando Ortiz-Ruiz gets three years for attack outside Louie's Cafe earlier this year.

An Easton man who pleaded guilty to a earlier this year is headed to state prison.

According to the Express-Times, Fernando Ortiz-Ruiz, 57, was sentenced Friday to spend three years in prison for stabbing Carmello Rivera-Ramos February 24 outside Louie's Cafe on Butler Street.

Ortiz-Ruiz pleaded guilty last week to aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was charged last year after Rivera-Ramos found suffering from his injuries -- which included a collapsed lung -- in a yard in Wilson about eight blocks away from the scene of the attack.
