Easton Man Charged with Cutting Wife

The following information was supplied by Easton police in court documents. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

When Easton Patrolman Jeffrey Crosson responded to a call early Saturday on the 600 block of Spring Garden Street, the home’s door was open and he saw blood on the floor.

He then encountered a man and woman upstairs, and the woman showed him a large open laceration on her right wrist and forearm. She said the man – her husband – did it with a large serrated kitchen knife, court records say.

The husband, Jaronzia Marquese Fletcher, 38, was charged with aggravated assault for “intentionally” cutting his wife, Yasmeen Fluellen, with a deadly weapon, the knife, during a fight, the records say.

He also was charged with simple assault, harassment by physical contact and recklessly endangering another person.

Fluellen also told the officer her husband allegedly dragged her down the stairs after the fight, which occurred shortly before 1 a.m. And Crosson noted in his criminal complaint he saw blood smeared on the walls and stairway railing.

Fletcher was arraigned at 4 a.m. Saturday by on-duty District Judge David Tidd of Lower Saucon Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
