EASD Aide Waives Shoplifting Hearing

Forks Township woman to be arraigned Sept. 27 for theft from Kohl's.

A charged with shoplifting while her sons were with her waived her preliminary hearing Thursday morning.

Court records say Patrice Poloso, 47, of the 1100 block of Meco Road, Forks Township, previously admitted to police she stole items from Kohl’s Department Store in Lower Nazareth Township during a July 26 shopping trip with her sons.

She waived her hearing before District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township. Her formal arraignment was set for Sept. 27 at 9am in Northampton County Court. When she was charged later on July 26, she was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

According to a criminal complaint, Poloso allegedly stole a backpack, a pair of Nike sneakers and two curtain rods – with a total value of $159.76. Her two sons – one them a 13-year-old – were with her.

Surveillance cameras at Kohl’s followed her around the store and in the parking lot. One camera zoomed in on the license plate of her red 2008 Saturn Vue, helping officials to identify her.

Police later went to her home, where she admitted to the theft and returned the items, the complaint says.
