Driver Who Injured Easton Cyclist Admits to Fatal Crash

Walnutport man pleads guilty to homicide by vehicle

A Walnutport man has admitted to causing fatal 2009 car crash that also injured a motorcyclist from Easton.

The Lehigh County District Attorney's office said Thursday that the man -- whose name was not released because he was charged as a juvenile -- pleaded guilty in county court to two counts of homicide by vehicle and five couts of recklessly endangering another person.

Judge Kelly Banach ruled the man delinquent for the crash, which happened in September 2009 on Mountain Road in Heidelberg Township, when he was still 17.

The crash killed two high school students -- Angelica Fox of Nazareth, and Russell Jacoby of Slatedale, who were both 17 when they died. The Easton man was Jeffrey Barrow, who swerved off the road to avoid the accident. State police later determined the boy was traveling 80 mph at the time of the accident.
