Daytime Burglaries Reported in Wilson

Wilson police say two homes robbed after burglar got in through unlocked door.

Wilson police are investigating a pair of burglaries that happened within two hours of each other Thursday morning in the borough.

The burglaries were reported at homes in 2400 block of Freemansburg Avenue and the 1500 block of Butler Street, police said.

In both cases, a burglar got in through an unlocked rear door and took money and other items. Police said the burglar may have been wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, but had no further description.

Police ask residents to keep their doors and windows locked and be on the lookout for suspicious people.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call Det. Marc Crisafulli at 610-258-8542.

Being retired, I leave my door unlocked many times during the week while at home. I have also learned how to make unwelcome guests feel right at home by serving gunpowder tea and Winchester hors d'oeuvres. I spend much of the time reading so no one knows whether someone is in the house or not and it makes it very easy to hear anyone coming in. "keep my doors and windows locked?" Naw, I'd value a little target practice - I mean tea party.

Forget the dog, beware of owner with gun. Just remember Joe Biden's gun safety tips, particularly in regard to proper home defense with a shotgun.
