Northampton County's District Attorney says investigators have cracked an 11-year-old murder case.
According to news reports, District Attorney John Morganelli announced Monday that Moore Township police had arrested Robert Schmidt for killing his tenant, Robert Sarko, in 2000.
Sarko was last seen in the summer of that year. Morgan said Sarko was shot by Schmidt after Sarko reported his landlord for abusing two dogs. Sarko's remains were found in 2004.
A county grand jury looked into this case last year. This is the second homicide arrest this year in a case investigated by the grand jury. In February, in a 2006 fatal shooting in Bethlehem.
