Chase Ends With Crash Into Parked Cars, Police Say

Allentown resident Anthony Sanchez charged with fleeing from police.

Easton police say an Allentown man led an officer on a chase through the city before crashing into three parked cars.

Anthony Sanchez, 22, is charged with fleeing and eluding police, a felony, and numerous traffic offenses.

According to police, Sgt. Kevin Krische was on patrol Sunday morning when he spotted Sanchez tailgaiting another driver and driving agressively on the 900 block of Northampton Street.

Krische tried to pull Sanchez over, and Sanchez drove away, police say, driving the wrong way on Lehigh Street toward 11th Street. At 11th Street, Sanchez crashed, and then tried to run away before being caught.

He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe in Bangor, and sent Northampton County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Police say Sanchez could also face DUI charges.
