Boyfriend, Girlfriend Charged in Thanksgiving Fight

Boyfriend tells Wilson police he 'retaliated;' girlfriend says fight was 'mutual.'

A boyfriend and girlfriend got into a fight Thanksgiving afternoon at their Wilson apartment, court records say.

The boyfriend, who had a "bloody scratch" on the right side of his nose and his chest, accused his girlfriend of "coming at him." He admitted that he "retaliated," the records say.

The girlfriend, who had a bloody nose and bloody lip, said they "attacked each other" and that the altercation was "mutual," the records say.

The officer who responded to the incident charged both of them, and both of them landed in county prison before Thanksgiving was over.

Paul R. Rose, 32, and Constance O'Neill, 53, both of 1920 Lehigh St., Apt. C-2N, each were charged with simple assault and harassment. The charges say Rose hit O'Neill in the face, causing the bloody nose and bloody lip.

O'Neill, the charges say, struck Rose in the face and on the chest, causing scratches, bleeding, redness and swelling.

Criminal complaints filed by borough Officer Thomas Migliore said the residence is in the Washington Court Apartments. It also lists the time of the incident as 5:08 p.m.

The two were arraigned at 7:30 p.m. Thursday by on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor, who committed them to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail each
