Poll: EASD and Charter/Cyber Students

The Easton Area School District could begin charging students from charter and cyber schools to play sports and participate in other activities.

The Easton Area School Board's athletic committee has begun looking at whether the district should collect a fee for who play district sports or join school clubs.

According to the Morning Call, the district would get the schools to reimburse it a flat or sliding fee depending on the number of extracurricular activities the students were involved in.

Athletic director James Pokrivsak told the Call's Samantha Marcus the district sports teams had three charter/cyber students in the 2011-2012 school year, but noted "We're getting more and more of these requests."
