Robert W. Jones Sr.: Former Electrician, Carpenter, Cabinet Maker (Obituary)

Robert W. Jones Sr., 94, of Palmer Township, passed away on January 23rd at his residence.

Robert W. Jones Sr., 94, of Palmer Twp., PA passed away on January 23rd at his residence.

Born on January 16, 1920 in Easton, Pa. he was the son of the late Griffith Jones Sr. and Mamie Goodyear Jones.

Mr. Jones served in the US Navy during World War Two and was a member of IBEW, Local 367. Previous to working as a union electrician he worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He will be greatly missed by his many friends at the YMCA in Easton.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary LaBarba Jones, who passed in 1988. Mr. Jones is survived by his children; Anita Townsend and husband Gene of Tavares, FL, Charmaine Glenn of Galloway, N.J., Barbara Jones, Easton, PA, Marylu Thomas and husband David of Easton, PA, Carmela Jones, Easton, PA, Robert W. Jones Jr. and wife Rosalie of Easton, PA and Terri Deily of Easton, PA as well as 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Jones is also survived by his beloved dog Sam. In addition to his wife he was also predeceased by a brother Griffith Jones Jr. and sisters Audrey Holden and Janice Mutchler.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway in Palmer Twp. at 11:00 AM. The interment will be at the Northampton Memorial Shrine in Palmer. There will be calling hours on Sunday at the funeral home from 2-4 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton, PA 18042.
