To Be Social, or Not to Be – There is No Question.

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube – known collectively as social media, is an unknown area to many business owners and a path they are hesitant to walk down. However, the truth is that social media has revolutionized business in a way that can no longer be avoided or ignored. Developing a social media strategy and executing it properly can give business owners a competitive advantage over their competition.

It is easy for companies to fall into the trap of using social media to create a digital loud speaker. Smart businesses use social media by implementing a careful balance of listening, communication and engagement. Engaging social brands don’t just talk, they listen. And they don’t just share, they deliver value. Social media is an incredible tool for reaching your customers and audience on a personal level. It’s a way to humanize your brand and connect with the people who matter most to your success.

Let’s face the facts: business owners are trying to make money. Saving money is important and whenever you have the opportunity to do it – take advantage. You can pay over $2,000 a month for a print ad in a glossy, high-end magazine or you can market the (you know what) out of yourself on social media on a reasonable budget. Basic pages for businesses on almost all social media platforms cost little to set up and the amount of people you can reach is limitless. You could spend some money advertising on social media, and it’s far more effective than print. Think about it, millions of people log-into Facebook everyday, and depending on how you target your ads, you have an opportunity to reach as many people as you want! Plus, it delivers so much more then a print ad. Once a user likes your page, you have their attention for an open ended line of communication.
