FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY

Saturday, April 26, members of the Boy Scouts of America and the Historical Society of Montgomery County will hold their annual Retirement of Flags Ceremony at the Historic Montgomery Cemetery, One Hartranft Avenue, Norristown, beginning 7 p.m.

The flags will be retired in accordance with The United States Flag Code: The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferable by burning."

The public is invited to join the ceremony and bring their own flags to retire. Flags may also be dropped off at the Historical Society. 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, on or before April 24.
