'Exposing Easton' Facebook Sex Page Under Investigation

Easton police are investigating "Exposing Easton Hoes," a now-defunct Facebook page claiming to chronicle the sexual exploits of young women from the city.

Lt. Matthew Gerould said Tuesday police began an investigation in response to a complaint about the site, which included pictures of women and girls and supposed details about their sex lives.

He declined to say what charges the creators of the page could face.

"We don’t know what this investigation will disclose," Gerould said.

The page collected more than 1,500 likes in less than a week before Facebook pulled it for violating its rules, according to the Express-Times.

The Easton Area School District is also looking into the page, said Frank Pintabone, an Easton Area School board member.

He said some students brought "Exposing Easton" to his attention on Monday. He said he recognized some of the young women as Easton Area students.

Pintabone took it to district Chief Operating Officer Michael Simonetta and board President Robert Fehnel.

Even though this one is gone, he worries the damage is done.

“It’s a shame. It’s bullying," Pintabone said.

He noted that he's often the target of anonymous attacks on-line. But this is different, he said.

“At 33 years old I laugh at these people," Pintabone said. "When it’s kids doing it to kids…it’s hard for them. A lot of kids are still trying to find their way. Some of these statements about these young girls are vulgar statements.”

This isn't the first time illicit photos of local students have gotten the attention of law enforcement.

In 2011, photos of nude Emmaus High School students wound up on a pornographic website, prompting a police investigation.
