And as the city dealt with the clean-up -- and a few overnight water rescues along Lehigh Drive -- . The Lehigh River was expected to crest Sunday afternoon, Mayor Sal Panto said. The current forecast for the Delaware shows the river cresting at 31 feet Monday morning.

The city had begun to evacuate homes along the river for what will be Easton's fourth flood in seven years.  Dozens of people gathered along the river Sunday morning to watch the rising waters. Large tree branches floated by.

I am a veteran school administrator in the New Jersey public schools and I have three young childrenRead More in the district. I am frightened and worried about our schools. What would it take for the PADOE to take over the district? Electing new board members is not enough. We need help from the state as soon as possible. The district needs to be stabilized and then everything from soup to nuts must be assessed by an outside educational entity. Our children deserve much better!
