An Easton Area Middle School teacher spent two days in Carbon County jail last month after pleading guilty to a DUI charge.
According to the Express-Times, Dana Morgan Buck, a fifth and sixth grade special education teacher, entered a guilty plea Jan. 17 and was sentenced to 48 hours to six months in prison. She served the 48 hours, and has since been on parole.
Other Easton educators have gotten into trouble in the last two years. Last July, teacher's aide Patrice Poloso was charged with shoplifting from the Kohl's in Lower Nazareth Township.
Court records show she was admitted to Northampton County's first-time offenders program in November.
In a much more serious case, former middle school social studies teacher Stephen Sullivan pleaded guilty in 2011 to possession of child pornography.
Sullivan had been fired by the school district after his arrest on child molestation charges against Sullivan that led to his eventual arrest in the child pornography case. The molestation charges were eventually dropped as part of his plea agreement, and Sullivan was sentenced to four to 23 months in prison.
