Churches Hope to Connect With Community

Community Connection program, slated for Wednesday, reaches out to city's needy.

Have you lost a job? A spouse? Is your health in bad shape?

There's a place you can go today to deal with issues like that.

Easton's is running a program called "Community Connection," to help "folks who are newly experiencing difficulties due to recent unemployment, health problems, change in marital status, loss of spouse, or have had some other life altering event," according to a news release.

The program -- run by ProJect of Easton and three downtown churches -- will also feature free glucose, cholesterol & blood pressure screenings done by Easton Hospital staff members.

In addition, representatives from more than 20 county human service agencies will be on hand to answer questions.

The program runs Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. at First U.C.C., located at 27 N. 3rd St. For more information call 610-258-3361.
