5 Things to Know Today

County council, an Easton police captain moves on, and more...

Good morning everyone. It's Thursday, June 16. Here are five things to know today.

1.  Northampton County Council meets tonight at 6:30, and even though the agenda is fairly light, things haven't on that front lately.

2. Chrin's plan to put a recycling center is on hold until next month, freelancer Christina Georgiou reports from last night's planning commission meeting. Discussion came to a halt after a commission member had to leave, which meant no quorum.

3. If you'd asked me last week who Easton's next police chief would be, I'd have told you "Probably Capt. Michael Vangelo." And I'd be wrong. The Express Times reports Vangelo is retiring next month and plans to take a job at Lafayatte College's public safety department.
