Air Conditioning

I am absolutely sure that my AC is not on the setting where it shuts off at a certain temperature in the room.  That being said, it has started to randomly shut off about ninety seconds after being turned on.  Witnessing that means that something is obviously wrong.  I am just trying to figure out what though?
