"Cash Mob" Will Hit Downtown Easton Friday

Group will give one Easton business a "flurry of income" Friday at noon.

The Cash Mob is coming.

That might sound ominous, but for local businesses, it's a good thing.

A cash mob is a group of people who assemble and then "spend their money en masse" at a local business, according to the group that started the idea in Cleveland last year.

And that's what's slated to happen tomorrow in Easton, according to the Easton Business Association. A group of people will meet at at noon, and then head to an as-yet-unspecified business Downtown.

"The goal will be for each participant to spend $20 (or whatever you’re comfortable with) in this shop, giving the business owner a surprise infusion of income," the business association said on its Facebook page.
