Veteran Bluesman Walter Parks Coming to Easton
Walter Parks: Live in the Gold Room, comes to Mercantile Home next month.
Veteran blues guitarist Walter Parks will perform next month as part of Mercantile Home's Distinctive Music Series.
Parks, guitarist for Woodstock legend Richie Havens and leader of the southern swamp-blues outfit Swamp Cabbage, will play Nov. 9 at 8 p.m.
"Inspired by the swampy gospel blues that wails from storefront churches and roadhouses in and around the southeast Georgia low country, Parks’ music is full of boot-stomping, guitar-strumming tunes that explore matters of the soul and spirit, built upon a foundation of jazz and folk," Mercantile Home said in a news release.
Past performers for the Distinctive Music Series have included Judy Collins, Kishi Bashi, Sonya Kitchell and the Brooklyn Strings, Kenny White, Decembersongs, and Hedda Lettuce.
Tickets are $18—seating is limited— and are available at Mercantile Home and online at www.mercantilehome.com.
