Sigal Opens Museum to Kids

Children 12 and under get in free Saturday as museum presents talk by author and illustrator.

Looking to teach your kids about local history? Take them to the Sigal Museum this Saturday, when children 12 and under get in for free.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club in Palmer Township, the day will allow kids to explore the museum and participate in a scavenger hunt.

They'll also get a chance to hear a presentation from local author Jeffery Finnegan and Easton-based illustrator Preston Hindmarch about their new book "Colonel Washington and Me." The book tells the story of George Washington through the eyes of William Lee, a slave who served as the first president's valet.

The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. There's a $7 suggested donation for admission, although of course that doesn't apply to kids on Saturday.
