Acclaimed pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii will make his Lafayette College debut later this month with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

Tsujii, 25, is the 2009 Gold Medal winner of the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and has performed solo recitals at Carnegie Hall, the Aspen Festival and the Kennedy Center.

Blind from birth, "Tsujii remains the darling of the moment, his sudden acclaim easily bolstered by technical skills and musical gifts of astonishing brilliance," the college said in a news release.

Showtime is at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the college's Williams Center, and ticket holders are invited to watch rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $29 and can be purchased online or by calling the center box office at (610) 330-5009 from noon to 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, plus one hour before the performance.
