Werner's first appearance at the Williams Center, a 2003 duo program with Toots Thielemans, showed his consummate musicianship, filled with elegance, originality, and wit. This return engagement features his extraordinary Quintet, which has enjoyed sold-out runs at New York's Blue Note and many of the important international jazz festivals. With saxophonist David Sanchez and trumpeter Randy Brecker, the group boasts two of the most eloquent and inventive horn players in jazz, and Werner rounds out the rhythm section with "first call" masters Scott Colley on bass and Antonio Sanchez on drums.
