Band Will Bring Civil War Music to Sigal

Easton's Municipal Band will perform with historic re-enactors this Saturday.

Easton's Municipal Band will meet an earlier version of itself Saturday at the Sigal Museum.

The band will perform with re-enactors from the Coates Band, named for Easton native, bandleader and Civil War veteran Thomas Coates, the museum said in a news release.

Coates became the leader of the Easton Band in 1850, and joined the 47th Pennsylvania Regiment of Volunteers in 1861, where he was part of that unit's band.
