Actor Chazz Palminteri Bringing His Bronx Tale to Easton

One-man coming-of-age story comes to State Theatre next month.

In 1989, actor Chazz Palminteri took a murder he witnessed as a child and turned it into A Bronx Tale, a one-man play about a boy growing up around organized crime.

That play became a movie in 1993, directed by and featuring Robert DeNiro. Now it's back on stage, with Palminteri bringing it to the State Theatre next month.

"Palminteri brings 18 characters to vivid life, depicting a rough childhood on Bronx streets populated by a cast of friends and enemies," the Easton theater said in a news release.

The play, directed by Tony-winner Jerry Zaks, takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.

Tickets are $40 to $45, and can be purchased at the theater box office, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org

There is a post-show meet and greet with Palminteri to benefit the non-profit theater. The price is $25 and can be purchased online or through the box office.
