Summer Nights, Block Watch, Ahead This Week

A look at what's going on this week in Easton.

School's out and summer is officially here, and that means Easton's "Summer Nights" program is ready to resume.

Run by Easton's Weed & Seed group with the help of 50 different community groups, Summer Nights provides food, entertainment, education, and a safe place for West Ward children.

It picks up again Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Centennial Park, at 12th and Ferry streets.

Also this week:

  • Easton City Council meets Wednesday at 6 p.m. at city hall. Committee meetings are scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, but have a tendency to get cancelled. We'll let you know if that happens.
  • The Easton Block Watch will hold its quarterly meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Olivet Presbyterian Church, 1151 Northampton Street. Speakers include District Attorney John Morganelli, Easton Fire Chief John Bast, and police Lt. John Remaley.
