Kaplan's, Applebees to Feed Veterans

Restaurant chains like Olive Garden and Denny's are observing Veterans Day with free meals

Kaplan's has joined forces with a local Applebee's to provide free meals -- and flags -- to veterans for Veterans Day.

According to the Easton flag/awning maker's website, the company is working with the Applebee's on Motel Road -- off Airport Road -- in Allentown. 

Guests will be asked to show one ore more of the following as proof of service: a U.S. Uniform Services ID Card, a U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, current leave and earnings Statement, veterans organization card, a photograph in uniform, or wearing a uniform in person.

Applebees is one of numerous restaurant chains are offering free meals for veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Keep in mind three things to take advantage of these specials:

  • Check with the restaurant ahead of your visit to make sure your local business is participating
  • Ask what form of ID is needed to get the deal.
  • Check the date of the offer. Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11 but the federal holiday is being observed Monday, Nov 12.
