Heat Will Create 'Dangerous Conditions' Thursday

Limit your time outdoors Thursday as a heat wave intensifies.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with the hottest conditions expected between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Temperatures will be in the mid- to high 90s with a heat index of 100 to 105 once humidity is factored in.

The Weather Service says heat and humidity will create "dangerous conditions" for anyone who works in the sun or lives in a residence without air conditioning. Children and adults over 50 are the most adversely affected.

Children and pets left in a hot car can die.

The heat wave is expected to continue into Saturday. The Weather Service says additional advisories may be issued.
