Habitat for Humanity to Dedicate Easton Home

Lukwo family will move into new South Side home.

In November 2011, Habitat for Humanity broke ground for a house on Easton's South Side.

It was meant to serve as the future home of Edwin, Mary and Cynthia Lukwo, who emigrated to the United States from Kenya.

On Saturday, Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the new home on Charles Street and celebrate with the Lukwo family.

Habitat for Humanity helps build homes for people, who buy them from the organization with a zero-interest mortgage. Homeowners need to put in 250 hours of work for each adult before getting that mortgage.

In the Lukwos case, that work began last spring, part of a group of six homes Habitat planned for the city.
