Some fun things to do with your kids this week.

Welcome to the Grab & Go Kids Planner.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

 1.  Literacy in the Kitchen

Where/When:  Young Chefs Academy (http://www.youngchefsacademy.com/) 2210 Corriere Road, Palmer Township, Thursday June 2, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Why Go:    Learn to make fruit kebobs and the ultimate fruit dip. Afterwards hear “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”  Ages 3 – 6 welcome

Price:    1st child - $13.00, Siblings - $11.00.  Reservations required. (610) 559 – 2665. Feel free to leave a message.

 

2.   “Do- it-Yourself” Kids Workshop

Where/When:  Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/) 721 S. 25th Street, Easton  Saturday June 4, 9:00 a.m. – noon.

Why Go:  The workshop will teach your child do-it-yourself skills as well as tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Kids ages 5 – 12 welcome.

3.   Swimming over the Weekend

Where/When:  Palmer Township Community Pool. Seip Avenue and Farmersville Road. Saturdays and Sundays 12:30 – 8:00 p.m. The pool will be open on weekends until the day after Easton Area School District is out for the summer.

Why Go: Soak up the sun, or just get soaked! Enjoy the beautiful summer weather by the pool.

Price:  Adult: $7.00, child $5.50 seniors, $5.00. Non swimmer: $1.00 Children 5 and younger are free.

 

4.   Cops ‘n’ Kids Reading Room – Grand Opening

Where/When:  Easton Area Community Center, Lower Level, 901 Washington Street, Easton.  Saturday June 4, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Don’t miss the ribbon cutting ceremony, and take part in the fun; Free books, food, reading, and entertainment.

Price:  Free

 

5.  Kids Eat Free On Wednesdays!

Where/When:  TGI Fridays,  Southmont Center Easton. All day on Wednesday.

Why Go:   One free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entrée.
