A lot of fun things to do with your kids this weekend.

Welcome to the Grab & Go Kids Planner.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

1.  Literacy in the Kitchen

Where/When:  Young Chefs Academy (http://www.youngchefsacademy.com/) 2210 Corriere Road, Palmer Township, Thursday April 14, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Why Go:  Celebrate Easter and make an Easter Egg Nest, and when it’s done, listen to a story.  It will be a great book to match the theme. Ages 3 – 6.

2. Healthy Kids Day

Where/When: The Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg and Vicinity (http://www.familyymca.org/) Saturday April 16, 12 :00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Why Go:  A day filled with fun classes, swimming, games, prizes, a moon bounce, and an outdoor Easter egg hunt.(weather permitting) There will be something to do for kids of all ages. First 150 kids will receive a free t-shirt. There will be NO parking at the YMCA. All guests must park at the Easton Middle school; there will be trolley service every half hour beginning at noon.

3.   Easter Bunny Train Ride and Easter Egg Hunt

Where/When:  The Delaware River Railroad Excursions (http://877trainride.com/) 99 Elizabeth Street, Phillipsburg. Saturday April 16, Sunday April 17, and Saturday April 23.  4 trips per day at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Take a leisurely train ride along the Delaware River with the Easter Bunny.  Later, stop at the Bunny Patch for an Easter Egg Hunt. New this year: Josh Horton, Juggler Extraordinaire will be on board to entertain guests.

Price:  Coach:  Child - $8.00, Adult - $16.00

 

4.   Craft Show

Where/When:  Easton Area High School Cafeteria ((http://eastonsd.org/eahs/)  Saturday April 16, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.   

Why Go:  Look, browse, or buy.   Help support the Easton Area High School Instrumental Music Association.

 

5.  Easter Bunny Hops into the Crayola Factory

Where/When:  The Crayola Factory (http://www.crayola.com/factory/) Sunday April 17, and Saturday April 23, at 2:00 p.m.

Why Go:   The Crayola Factory will feature an Easter Bunny Hop.  All “hippity hoppers” will receive an Easter basket filled with candy and special prizes. Enjoy yummy bunny snacks and more.  Guests will make bunny ears to wear while dancing the bunny hop. Space is limited and reservations are required. Call (610) 515 -  8000.
