Flood Warning Issued For Lehigh River Near Easton

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for residents along the Lehigh River in Easton.

According to the NWS, an ice jam was reported along the river Wednesday afternoon on the Lehigh near the Old Glendon Bridge. Water had begun to cover parts of Lehigh Drive, which was closed Wednesday.

"Some homes along Lehigh Drive may also be affected," the alert reads. "Ice jams can behave erratically, and residents and businesses along the Lehigh River, from near the old Glendon Bridge downstream to its confluence with the Delaware should remain alert for rapidly changing conditions until the jam clears the area over the next couple of days."

The flood warning is in effect until Thursday morning at 4:45.
