Easton Farmers Market Opens Winter Mart

New indoor farmers' market opens in former Weller Center.

The Easton Farmers' Market opened its winter mart Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Customers had shown up an hour earlier, and filled the new indoor market—at 325 Northampton St.—throughout the day.

About 40 vendors took part, including local businesses such as the Easton Salsa Co.,Tombler's Bakery and the Bank Street Creamery, as well as numerous area farms.

This is the second year of a full-time indoor market. Last year, the market held winter hours inside the Nurture Nature Center

The market will operate indoors from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. until the first weekend of May, when it returns to Centre Square.

But that doesn't mean operations will cease at 325 Northampton. City officials announced in July plans to turn the space into a permanent market that provides residents with fresh, locally produced food.
